One day, you are born.
You took your first breath.
The next day, you are on your death bed
Taking your last breath.
All in the between,
Life happened.
You took many breaths.
With each breath,
life is remembered,
then forgotten.
From your first breath
To your last.
Your life is just a twilight in the sky
Quickly passing.
On your death bed,
You ask, "What comes next?"
You remember your first breath.
Now you are taking your last.
You remember your each breath,
Each wound,
Each happiness.
All you have seen in your life
Is now passing by your eyes.
Grasping at each of them,
They fall through your fingers.
Each breath
Brings forth a vapor.
One day only brings the next.
Time falls through your fingers,
In vain, you attempt to stop it.
As you exhale,
Your chest falls,
Only to not rise again.
Your soul falls from your body,
You try to grasp your body,
Willing yourself to live.
Falling,
You wonder where you are going.
In two breaths,
Your life came and went.
